Shrap

More present than my presence,
It’s lodged in me; it twists, creeps
In microscopic paces,
Agony-filled reminders
That certain encounters
Carry more force than others,
Strong impacts preventing
More quotidian concerns
From taking up residence,
From making themselves
Inextricable.
